Mesotherapie is a true European therapy for reducing
inches or rejuvenating the skin. Originally pioneered in the 1950s by
French physician Dr. Michel Pistor, is the painless injection of vitamins,
minerals, medications, and amino acids placed just under the surface of the
skin. Mesotherapie has a variety of applications including weight and
cellulite reduction; face and neck rejuvenation. Therefore, the injected solution is individually prepared depending on its
purpose. Unlike other medical treatments, mesotherapie is administered directly
to the desired area. This limits side-effects, reduces the possibility of drug
interactions, and allows for a substantial reduction in the amount of medicine
utilized for each procedure.
Mesotherapie Applications:
Weight Reduction
For those patients seeking weight
reduction, mesotherapie is a revolutionary and essential tool. This is how it
works: the biology of the fat cell is modified by blocking the signals of fat
accumulation and simultaneously triggering the release of stored fat. Again,
the desired area of treatment can be patient specific, targeting your most problematic areas.
Lose inches from targeted areas. One treatment is all that is required to
rid yourself of that double chin or fat deposits under the eyes. Over
time, you can reduce the size of any body part even when diet and exercise is
failing to make a difference.
Additionally, a dietary and nutrient evaluation will
help you maintain your weight reduction goals. The
Longevity Centre of
Houston specializes in medical weight loss, whether it be lifestyle,
hormonal, metabolism or food allergies causing weight problems. They have
customized programs to fit your individual needs.
Cellulite Reduction
Cellulite affects the majority of
women over the age 20. It is caused by poor circulation, fat herniation, a
weakening of connective tissues, lymphatic congestion and hormonal imbalances.
Cellulite is classified into four stages, based upon its appearance while
standing, laying, and pinching the skin. Causing a dimpling and cottage cheese
appearance of the skin, cellulite is not a disease of excess weight.
Mesotherapie
treatment is targeted to correct these problems by improving circulation,
strengthening connective tissues, and dissolving excess fat.
Face and Neck Rejuvenation / Meso-Lift
and Meso-Glow Aging, sagging and wrinkling of the
skin occurs from accumulation of fat, loss of skin elasticity and excessive free
radical damage. Using antioxidants and amino acids, mesotherapie can remove fat
from under the neck, remove free radical damage, tighten loose skin and soften
nasal labial folds (the groove that runs from the nose to the corner of the
mouth). It also compliments dermal fillers in these areas. The effects
rejuvenate the face, eyelids and neck without the unnatural appearance
and painful recovery of surgical face lifting. This is a wonderful
treatment for fine lines around eyes and lips. Treatments are usually
spaced two weeks apart for up to six months for optimal results - which is to
eradicate wrinkles altogether. The results last anywhere from six months
to two years or longer.
Body Sculpting
Contouring of the abdomen, arms,
back, legs and hands can be obtained with mesotherapie. Vitamins and amino acids
are used to tighten sagging skin while other agents are used to remove areas of
fat, restoring a more youthful and athletic appearance to the body's contours.
How much does mesotherapie
cost? Mesotherapie treatments cost from $350-$600
per area per treatment depending on the type of mesotherapie. Consultations run from $75 to $150. A
treatment area is defined as the abdomen, thighs, arms, etc. Smaller areas such
as the face and neck are priced accordingly.
How many treatments are
required? Generally, for inch loss, the average patient
requires three to ten treatments. However thin people with problem areas such
as "love handles" or "saddlebags" may require less, whereas larger individuals
may require more. Skin rejuvenation requires six treatments
What are the side effects? Side effects are generally limited
to bruising and swelling. The bruises usually fade within two weeks. We have products
that
can dissipate bruises in a shorter time frame. Lymphatic drainage sessions
are recommended before and after a session to reduce the swelling time.
Can
anyone receive mesotherapie treatments? Anyone with the
following conditions, should not be treated with mesotherapie: -
Pregnant/Lactating Women
- Insulin Dependent / Out of Control Diabetic
- Recently Diagnosed Stroke, Heart Failure
- Recently Diagnosed Kidney Insufficiency/Failure
- Active Cancer
- Liver Cirrhosis
- Known Allergies to Injection Ingredients (allergy test given)
- Active Skin Condition (herpes, eczema, cold sores, etc.)
Can I go back to work after
the treatment? Yes. The procedure generally
takes 30 minutes and requires no preparation or recovery time. Furthermore, no
heavy bandages or girdles are used. Ace bandages may be used to reduce swelling.
Are the treatments painful? The majority of patients
experience minimal discomfort with mesotherapie. For those with lower pain
thresholds, a numbing cream or painkillers can be used.
How long do the benefits
last? Treatment areas will remain free of unwanted
fat as long as the patient maintains a healthy diet and exercise. Treatments for
cellulite will require maintenance on a six
month to one year basis. Hormone balancing can
help make your results long lasting.
How many treatments are
required before I see results? It depends on the patient's body.
Some patients see results after one treatment session while others may require
four to five treatments before beginning to see results. Often the patient's
clothing will become looser and friends and family will tell the patient they
appear thinner. However, mesotherapie is more about losing inches than losing
large amounts of weight.
How many treatments will I
need? It will vary based on your personal treatment
goals, medical recommendations, and areas of the body and extent of the
cellulite/fat/skin/weight to be treated. The number of visits ranges from
approximately five to fifteen. Long-term weight loss from exogenous obesity may
require weekly treatment for several months, personalized to the client's
specific goals, supported by daily exercise, diet management, and personalized
vitamin supplements.
Is mesotherapie different
from liposuction? Yes, it is very different.
Besides involving no anesthesia and surgical risk, mesotherapie requires no
recovery time. Mesotherapie also removes the fat from the fat cell without
destroying it. We believe this helps give mesotherapie its natural appearance.
Also, if you gain weight after having mesotherapie, the fat will simply return to
the treated area, unlike liposuction, where fat can start to occur in places
that had been thin in the past, such as the arms, neck, face, and calves.

I've never
heard of MesoLift/Glow Not many practitioners perform mesotherapie in the United States.
It has long been used in France for the correction and prevention of wrinkles.
As a medical aesthetician, it has become my most popular rejuvenation therapy
having the highest friend referral rate of any treatment we offer.
What is the
difference between MesoLift and MesoGlow? MesoLift is a series of injections into each wrinkle you want treated.
The needle is extremely short, only 4mm long. MesoGlow, also referred to as Nappage, is a series of micro injections
put mid-way down into the skin. Not deep enough to draw blood, but enough
get nourishment to the skin. A series of droplets are put into and on top
of the skin to start the rejuvenation process. MesoGlow can be used to
cover the entire skin surface and in areas where injections are not possible
such as the upper and lower eyelids.
How much does mesotherapie
cost? Mesotherapie skin rejuvenation treatments cost from $75-$600
per area, per treatment, depending on the area and type of mesotherapie,
MesoGlow or MesoLift. Consultations run from $75 to $150 and are waived if
you receive the treatment. A
treatment area is defined as either the eyes, mouth, full face, neck, décolleté,
hands, etc. Small areas with only a few injection points are priced
accordingly.
How many treatments are
required? Generally, for the rejuvenation of your skin, the average patient
requires six treatments. However, if your lines are very deep, additional
treatments may be needed. After each treatment, you will notice continued
improvement in your wrinkles and the quality of your skin. Your skin feels
tighter, more hydrated and the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines start to
fade quickly.
What are the side effects? Side effects are generally limited
to bruising and swelling. The bruises usually fade within one week. We have products
that can dissipate bruises in a shorter time frame.
Can
anyone receive mesotherapie treatments? Anyone with the
following conditions, should not be treated with mesotherapie: -
Pregnant/Lactating Women
- Insulin Dependent / Out of Control Diabetic
- Recently Diagnosed Stroke, Heart Failure
- Recently Diagnosed Kidney Insufficiency/Failure
- Active Cancer
- Liver Cirrhosis
- Known Allergies to Injection Ingredients (allergy test given)
- Active Skin Condition (herpes, eczema, cold sores, etc.)
Can I go back to work after
the treatment? Yes. However, you will have mild
swelling and a slight redness to the skin immediately post procedure that should
dissipate after 12 hours, but it can last as long as three days. It is at
your discretion if you should go back to work that day. You must avoid
heat for eight hours after a treatment as it tends to cause a throbbing
sensation to the treated area.
Are the treatments painful? The majority of patients
experience minimal to moderate discomfort with MesoLift injections. A
slight burning sensation is felt during the injections. A numbing cream is
applied topically prior to the procedure. Additional painkillers can be
used for those with low pain thresholds.
There is no discomfort with the MesoGlow
application when a topical anesthetic is applied.
How long do the benefits
last?
The benefits of mesotherapie skin rejuvenation can be long lasting. If you
wear your sunblock on a daily basis, eat right, take care of yourself, the
affects can last more than a year. Others may need a booster treatment in
six months.
How many treatments are
required before I see results? It depends on the patient's skin. The
majority of patients start to see results after one treatment session while others
will see noticeable results after three treatments. The affects are not as
long lasting until a series of six treatments has been completed.
How are mesotherapie
injections different
from Botox ® injections?
Botox® is a toxin that is injected directly into the muscle area
which essentially paralyzes the muscle. When you stop using the muscle the
skin is prevented from being creased and thereby allows the wrinkle to smooth
out. However, Botox® inevitable wears off over time and must be
repeated every three to six months. Mesotherapie actually rejuvenates the
skin making Botox® less necessary. Our Botox®
patients claim that their Botox® lasts longer when used with
mesotherapie. However, it is not that the Botox® last longer,
they actually don't need it as much, if at all, as the skin has been rejuvenated
and is firmer and healthier.
What are the components of MesoLift/Glow
injections? Supplementation is an important aspect of health
and skin care as it can often provide elements that your body is lacking.
Supplements can contribute to an overall program that can help the skin from the
inside out. However, if your nutritional internal absorption is impaired or the
vascular circulation in your skin is compromised from age, smoking, sun damage,
etc., then injecting nourishing compounds may be exactly what your skin needs.
It can greatly enhance your body's ability to rejuvenate your skin in a much
shorter time period.
The solution is comprised of FDA approved ingredients
that are used off-label. Your skin naturally contains these ingredients,
but in higher quantities when you were younger. We inject these compounds
directly into the skin to quickly rejuvenate it. Our mesotherapie solution
is comprised of the following compounds:
Hyaluronic Acid
- Your cells had an abundant amount of this when you were young, it is
what gives children that nice plump look to their skin
- It binds more than 1000x its weight in water to help hydrate the skin
- Smokers and former smokers are low in hyaluronic acid
DMAE or dimethylaminoethanol
- improves cellular function
- firms and tightens the skin
Trace elements
- Calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, selenium and a little research shows that
those minerals and trace elements have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory
effects on the skin. The skin is soft and remains hydrated for a number
of days after your first treatment.
- Trace elements help to provide softer skin, more hydrated, more elastic and
a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles.
B-complex vitamins
- The term B-complex usually refers to a group of vitamins that includes
vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenate), B6
(pyridoxine), B12 (cyancobalamine) and folate.
- deficiencies of some vitamins and minerals are particularly detrimental to
the skin and may result in skin diseases and/or accelerated aging. While
severe vitamin/mineral deficiencies are rare in the developed countries,
mild deficiencies are surprisingly common. To maximize the effects of any
skin rejuvenation program, mesotherapie provides adequate amounts of vitamins
and minerals directly into the skin where it is needed.
Alpha lipoic acid
- Lipoic acid is a well-known natural substance found in certain foods
and also produced in the human body. It has an impressive array of potentially
beneficial mechanisms of action:
Lipoic acid is a potent and versatile antioxidant being bot fat and
water soluble. It can penetrate virtually every cell in the body.
It is a co-factor in a key biochemical pathway responsible for
energy production in the cells (citric acid cycle).
It inhibits cross-linking which is the formation of chemical bridges
between proteins or other large molecules. Cross-linking contributed to the
aging process by causing hardening of arteries, wrinkling of the skin and
stiffening of joints.
It has moderate anti-inflammatory effect.
Finally, it has a capacity, albeit a modest one, to neutralize and
remove from the body a variety of toxic metals.
Lidocaine
- Used as an anesthetic for injection points

"I had a lower eye lift, but was disappointed by the amount of time it took
for healing to occur. Not to mention it really didn't do anything for my
crow's feet lines. Mesotherapie injections have enhanced the healing of my
post-operative recovery and have smoothed the lines around my eyes. It is
one of the best treatments I have ever had for my wrinkles. I am very
pleased with the results."
- A.J., Houston, TX
"I had sun damaged skin and my lines were starting to show much too early.
After a series of IPL and then mesotherapie, the deeper "smile lines" have
disappeared. It is truly an amazing treatment for rejuvenating the skin."
- C.C., Houston, TX
"I had been to other doctor's in an effort to treat my wrinkles. I
didn't receive the results I was looking for. After the effective skin
care products and mesotherapie, my wrinkles are a thing of the past...Thank
you."
- B.P, Houston, TX
"After three mesotherapie MesoLift treatments, one day I was sitting at my
desk in my office when a colleague, sitting across from me, mentioned that I
looked younger and asked what had I been doing?...I couldn't be more delighted
about the results in just three treatments so far."
