A Quick & Effective Way to Remove Unsightly Vascular Blemishes (cherry angiomes and spider veins), Skin Tags, Lumps and Bumps,
Seborrheic Keratosis
How Is It Done?
The surface of the skin is cleaned and prepped. A fine tipped sterile probe
is placed on the surface of the blemish. Low level RF and DC current is passed
through the probe to the vessel. The blood in the tiny vessel is clotted or
coagulated and stops flowing. With proper "post" treatment care the vessel is
naturally absorbed into the surrounding tissue and typically within three to
four weeks will disappear.
What About "Post" Treatment Care?
The VascuTouch electrocoagulates each tiny vessel and the blood stops
flowing. You need to pay attention not to disturb the treated vessels for 24
hours. Undue stress could cause renewed blood flow and the vessel will not dry
up and be absorbed. With proper care, the treated vessel will tend to look
darker the next day.
This is normal and a good sign that the vessel was properly treated.
Skin Tags
Yes! Skin tags, no matter where they are located on the body can be
treated in minutes with the VascuTouch. Once treated they fall off in two
to three days.
Lumps and Bumps
Various skin lumps and bumps can be treated with the VascuTouch
system. They are flattened, blended into the skin and disappear after
several days.
Seborrheic Keratosis
The growths resemble flattened warts, but have no
viral origins and may exhibit a variety of colors, from pink or yellow through
brown and black.
If your Seborrheic Keratosis lesions have that "greasy" or "waxy"
appearance they may be treated with VascuTouch. If they are very old and
have a thick, crusty, dry feeling, then Dr. Pearsall will need to freeze them
off.
Question and Answers About the Treatment
Q How long does the treatment take?
A Most blemishes are removed in seconds. Depending on the number of
capillaries most conditions can be successfully and permanently treated in one
ten to fifteen minute treatment.
Q Is the procedure safe?
We use a
sterile, disposable probe for each treatment. Electrocoagulation has been used safely for years to remove vascular
blemishes.
Q Does it hurt?
A Some experience a "pinprick" sensation that can be mildly uncomfortable. However, when a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the area most of the
discomfort is taken away.
Q What other methods can be used to treat vascular blemishes?
Another method is laser treatment. Though more expensive, the
appropriate laser can be quite effective in treating vascular blemishes.
What Are Vascular Blemishes?
Broken capillaries and spider veins are classified in medical terminology
names associated with these lesions, including "Blood Moles" "Blood Dot", as
well as the cosmetics/ aesthetic terms, "Couperose Skin".
Blood moles resemble a red dot or patch and can appear nearly anywhere on the
body. Capillaries under the eye or around on the nose as well as the neck or
upper chest are vascular blemishes treatable with the VascuTouch.
How Did I Get Them?
Heredity seems to be the most popular theory. It is noted that those with
fair skin have a higher incidence of telangiectasia while more olive complexions
have few problems. Other contributing theories include are, hormones, sun
exposure, alcohol consumption and other predisposing medical condition. Trauma
to the skin may also cause telangiectasia to develop. Whatever their origin,
these vascular blemishes can be removed easily and permanently with the VascuTouch.
