Laser hair removal of dark hairs will be effective on this type of skin. This type of skin absorbs more laser light than lighter shades of skin, so the energy on some types of lasers may be turned down somewhat to avoid damaging the skin. A few more visits might need to be scheduled to make the hair removal/reduction truly permanent. The procedure may not provide permanent results for light brown or blonde hair that is not markedly darker than the skin. If you are currently tanned (even with tan-in-a-can) you should wait before having any laser procedures. You want your skin to be as light as possible for the greatest efficacy of treatment.
