Your skin is Fitzpatrick Type IV

This type of skin absorbs a relatively large amount of laser radiation and, consequently, was not traditionally treated by lasers. Recent (2001) laser designs have been developed that allow effective treatment of dark hair on skin types IV and darker (types V and VI). A few more visits might need to be scheduled to make the hair removal/reduction truly permanent. The procedure may not provide permanent results for light brown or blonde hair that is not markedly darker than the skin. If you are currently tanned (even with tan-in-a-can) you should wait before having any laser procedures. You want your skin to be as light as possible for the greatest efficacy of treatment.
